Inspiring Work

Work by different artists that and inspire my work and which I admire for the technicality and originality.

Brett Ruder is such a great artist.

Narrative Illustration: The Tell Tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe

This is the story of a murder narrated by the actual murderer. I illustrated the characters and the setting of the story The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Poe.

I tried to capture the mood of the story based on the narrators point of view, which in this case is the murderer. I wanted to capture feelings of madness, horror and obsession.

                                                                        'Obsession'

To accomplish this, I used Photoshop, collage, photographs and edited, repeated and rescaled them to create the pace of the events. I’ve experimented with different colours, textures and sizes to emphasize and amplify the parts of the text I’ve considered most important.

The 'victim'.

The 'murderer'.

Printmaking

Bits and parts of my printmaking work. Love both the process and the result. Handmade prints have always been my favourite ones and printmaking is the best way to bring out the best qualities of each of the materials.

The project was about antiques and artefacts and I thought some red and yellow colour would give that dusty, rusty feeling.

There are some of the samples I've done for my printmaking project on animal transformation. I wanted to create a sort of quirky feeling of a bird transformation into a human, or maybe almost one, and also gaining some of the human characteristics of grumpiness and stiffness.
